Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Deposits

Deposits are required to secure project dates, organize labour, and purchase necessary materials.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, deposits become non-refundable once materials have been ordered or scheduling has been confirmed.
If a client cancels before materials are purchased and scheduling is confirmed, a partial or full refund may be considered at our discretion, minus any costs already incurred.
If work has already started, the deposit will be applied toward labour, materials, and any project-related expenses incurred up to that point.

2. Client Cancellations

If a confirmed project is cancelled by the client, any eligibility for a refund will depend on the stage of work at the time of cancellation.
Refund Guidelines:

  • Before materials are purchased and scheduling is confirmed: a full or partial refund may be available.
  • After materials are ordered or scheduling is reserved: refunds may be reduced or unavailable.
  • Once work has begun: no refunds will be issued for completed labour, used materials, or non-recoverable costs.

The client is responsible for all incurred costs, including:

  • materials already purchased
  • labour already completed
  • supplier fees or non-refundable charges
  • any other project-related expenses

3. Completed Services

Once a project has been substantially completed, refunds are generally not provided.
If there are concerns regarding workmanship, Sinan Renovation must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the issue and, where applicable, resolve it under our workmanship warranty before any refund request is considered.

4. Workmanship Concerns

If an issue is directly related to our workmanship, we may, at our discretion:
repair the affected area
complete touch-ups
redo portions of the work
issue a partial refund if appropriate

Refunds or corrections do not apply to issues caused by:

  • normal wear and tear
  • moisture, leaks, humidity, water damage, or structural movement
  • pre-existing surface conditions or defects
  • materials supplied by the client
  • client-approved colour selections
  • manufacturer or product defects
  • damage caused by third parties after completion

5. Materials

Materials such as paint, coatings, fixtures, and other project-specific items are generally non-refundable, particularly when:

  • they are custom ordered, tinted, or special order items
  • suppliers do not accept returns
  • they have been opened, installed, delivered, or used

Any possible refund is limited to what can be recovered from the supplier.

6. Delays & Rescheduling

If a project is postponed or rescheduled, deposits may be retained and applied to the new schedule.
If a client repeatedly delays the project or fails to provide reasonable access within a reasonable timeframe, Sinan Renovation may treat the project as cancelled and apply the deposit toward scheduling losses, administrative costs, and related expenses.

7. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will typically be issued using the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on the bank or payment provider.

8. Consumer Rights

This policy does not limit any rights provided to clients under applicable consumer protection laws.
In Ontario, businesses are generally not required to issue refunds simply because a client changes their mind, unless stated in the agreement or required by law.
For certain home renovation agreements signed in a client’s home, Ontario law may provide a 10-day cooling-off period. If work begins during this period, the contractor may still be entitled to payment for labour, services, and materials already provided.
